Katherine Walker, Owner, is a Chapel Hill native and lifelong North Carolina resident who earned a biology/math bachelors from Appalachian State University, and A.A.S. Architectural Technology degree from Wake Tech, and a Sustainability Technologies Renewable Energy Diploma from Durham Tech. Southern Harmony Designs began doing business in 2008 and became an LLC in 2014. Also from 2007-2018, Katherine consulted directly with an engineer as an in-house independent structural drafter. Thus, Katherine is knowledgeable in both residential and commercial structures using a variety of building materials and has dealt with many building code and permit issues. She lives in Hillsborough with her husband and three offspring.
